All about Pleasers!

At Sedusa we LOVE our shoes! Below you’ll find directions and a form to order your dance shoes. Almost all of our pole classes require the proper foot wear, and we do have shoes for rent as well as new ones to buy in our boutique. If you want to know more about our shoe policy, why it’s so important to us that everyone wear pole shoes, and shoe choice recommendations, scroll past the form to dive deeper.

To place orders with Pleaser we must reach an item minimum, due to this we place orders only once a month. Since typically we get the most requests at the beginning of the month, all order requests must be in by the 7th, and finalized (style chosen and payment approved) by the 10th at 10 PM!

Why the Shoes?

Great question!! At Sedusa we do require Pole Shoes (AKA Heels, Dancer/Stripper shoes, Platforms, Stilettos) in many of our classes, as we use them to enhance lines, to aid our pole and floor movement, and to honor the roots of Pole Dancing. The Stilettos remind us where this beautiful dance style came from, and help keep alive the beautiful art of classic stripper style movement. Not only do they elongate the line of our legs, it exaggerates our posture, changes how we move, and most importantly changes how we feel. You can think of it as a uniform, or a tool that we use to enable a specific type of movement (much like a ballerinas point shoes, or a figure skaters ice skates). In essence, once you strap on those Stilettos, you’re a dancer✨

Don’t worry if you “can’t walk in heels”, or “don’t know how to dance in heels”, almost EVERYBODY says that before their first class, so you can find comfort in knowing you are part of the majority. And that’s where we come in, all of the Sedusa instructors are skilled at the art of moving in heels, and will guide you.

There’s nothing to worry about, we’ll train you on balance, posture, and poise in those platforms, and if there’s ever a wobble (it happens to all of us 😆), the pole will be there to hang on to!

We lend you a pair of shoes for free on your first class, after that it would be a $10 fee, so it’s best to just purchase your own pair.

We do have shoe requirements, not only to protect the facility, but to help you get the best experience and utilization of the shoes. It’s always easier to discuss this in person, but encase you’d prefer to read through the main requirements, we’ve made a quick list of bullet points below:

  • Must be Pole Specific shoes

    • We recommend Pleaser, they have a wide variety, and are good quality. We sell these in studio, you’re welcome to come in to try them on/purchase a pair before or after a class you’re in. Our staff is great at helping you find the right pair with regard to size and fabrication.

  • 7” platforms are recommended for beginners

    • We know it sounds high, but because of the platforms they are very comfortable (they’ll probably be the most comfortable heels you’ve ever put on, they are “work” shoes after all 😉). This height allows us to do more refined heel work. When browsing we recommend look for the style names Sky or Adore.

  • Shoes must be free of rhinestones or metal on the platforms, or metal buckles up the front

    • While rhinestones can be beautiful, and boots can be fun, the adornments may damage the poles/floor.

  • Your dance shoes must not be worn outside

    • We Love to roll around on the beautiful, sprawling hard wood dance floor at Sedusa, and that wouldn’t be as enjoyable if there was dirt and rocks on the floor, so as a rule, no street shoes on the dance floor

If you have any questions or concerns after reading through everything you’re always welcome to reach out to our staff, email us HERE!
